Hello,
Every player at some point has to rearrange their city layout. My idea is to design a feature allowing players to start with empty layout. Allowing them to reconfigure thier whole city building by building.
This idea could also allow for players to design multiple different city layouts. They could switch between the few layouts and change them anytime. This would benefit players when fellowship adventures start. Players could have city designs made for when FA comes and switch over to that layout build. This also would provide a space for players to be creative and allow them to play around with city layout without actually changing their existing layout.
I hope others will find this interesting and I would like to hear others ideas on ways to improve my idea. Maybe together we can build a great feature to this game.

elvenarchitect.com allows you to create city layouts based on buildings you have or from scratch. After you plan your city you have to move buildings around in the game to match your plan, which can sometimes be challenging, but ea provides many of the features you're looking for already.

That's exactly correct. elvenarchitect.com does allow you to do that. My idea would be having that capability built into game. Just like they added the option to view city without buildings. That layout view is similar to elvenarchitect I believe. All I'm saying is it would be nice to have the ability to reconfigure your city in the game. Rearranging your city as of now is too much of a headache and time consuming. Basically how it is now a player's city is stuck configured like it is for quite some time, unless you have a ton of teleports.

I think players would appreciate the ability to easily redesign their city layout. I enjoy reconfiguring my city but as of now the game doesn't provide a way to move buildings around without either deleting building or using teleports. I like teleports for placing building into Inventory but dislike having to use teleports to make room so you can move some building around then have to build teleported buildings back into city.

I agree, but then what would ElvenArchitect do? LOL. The idea has been suggested before and it's a good one. The problem is, it would be very expensive to implement because it would take a whole bunch of coding. Lot's of coding. And that's costly. So it's unlikely to happen any time soon, and probably, unless revenues take off, never.

The problem that a lot of players including me is that we play on tablets and Elvenarchitect doesn’t play nice with us

I'm unsure on how difficult this would be to implement and how much coding. It would be a great feature and I know most players would greatly appreciate having this functionality. If ElvenArchitect configurations could be ported into your city that would work too.

And it never will, as they have said over and over. Part of the challenge of the game is the puzzle of having to move the buildings around in the city, one at a time, to make them fit together. This is an intentional part of the design.

I understand they want the game to be like building a puzzle. They don't have to force you to move one building at a time to achieve redesigning a player's city like a puzzle. You still have to figure out how to fit all your buildings on the map if they implemented my idea. It just wouldn't be overly complicated and time consuming to rebuild. When you buy a puzzle from the store you start with all the pieces to work with and it's still challenging and people still enjoy building the puzzle. Only allowing one building to be moved at a time doesn't make it challenging it makes it unpleasant.

Ok
I may make a post here on this Forum for Konn.
To reiterate: the Elven Architect was created by a guy who dreamed of these features and knew that InnoGames would never add them - prior to the release of the mobile app.
The gentleman in question plays on EN1 Arendyll, but also has a Forum account on Beta. Of course other players have requested that the Architect be released for mobile, and Konniver has stated plainly that he does not know how to do this; if any Elvenar fan has these skills and wishes to tackle this project, he would be pleased to welcome their assistance.
Interested parties can find him on the International server's Arendyll, their Forum, or Beta Forum.

And being a former programmer I think that gives you a good clue as to how difficult and time consuming doing as suggested by the OP would be. Can’t see it happening and actually not sure I want it to happen.

Well it seems my idea is a dud. I use to play rise of kingdoms and they had this functionality and it was very useful. I guess I just miss having that ability. I'll just keep dreaming I guess. Thanks for everyone's feedback.

@Drho Ideas are never a waste. You’ll never know unless you ask and sometimes our ideas become wishes and sometimes they’re granted.
BTW - welcome to the forum. Nice to have another voice.

I get it, I really do.
Hmm have you played orc chapter? S&D? Halflings? These chapters really teach how to squeeze a city for every scrap of space... you could try selling your roads and all the culture from the build menu, it can add up to a lot of space. Rearrange and build new roads.

They are working on a feature for us to be able to rearrange our cities with just the outlines of the buildings (flat) rather than the 3-D buildings. This might help with part of what you want.

ya just gotta know how, and be willing to do it .....
(Yes, I have shared how before on the forums )
1 Get a mobile browser that can "show as on PC" , turn it on.
2 invest in a mouse for your tablet
3 It works, it really works ..... Try Puffin...

They have already implemented the ability to move buildings around with flat view. Do you not have this option yet?
