I do not know how many of you are familiar with the band Kamelot but they have a dual album set called Epica and The Black Halo. When played together they tell the story of Goethe's Faust Part 1 and Part 2 just with Faust's name change to Ariel and Gretchen's name changed to Helena. Mephisto's name is left alone. It's a brilliant set of albums. The genre is Power Metal but the songs are surprisingly beautiful.

Center of the universe for example really gives you the feel of what was going on in Faust's head at the start of the story.

Momento Mori is Faust's salvation.

Other great songs on the album include Descent of the Arch Angel (When Mephisto first appears), Feast of the Vein (when Ariel / Faust accepts the deal), Lost and damned (where Ariel / Faust leaves Helena / Gretchen), The Mourning (Ariel / Faust grieves Helena / Gretchen), III ways to Epica (Mephisto trying to comfort him... sort of), March of Mephisto, Black Halo (Ariel / Faust starting to realize what's important), Nothing ever dies (where Ariel / Faust learns that love is the only truth) and Momento Mori (Faust is saved), and Serenade (The moral of the story).

You can find a lot (if not all) of these songs on Youtube and I highly recommend them for any fan of Faust. I've even thought of making fan videos using clips of the silent film.
